Hello everyone,

This is RJ Jats from radio CF and I am back in action – live and hot. ;) You are on air with me on a show “share your heart” and today you are ‘listening’ my show with your ‘eyes’. Before we move on I need 2 things, “smile on ur face – aaaaaaa perfect, there it is ;)” & “your favorite song on your playlist”.

Lacs of organizations and Crores of people are EFFECTIVELY working for betterment of world especially youth. In past few years I observed that, these enthusiastic people are disappearing in regular interval and thought something is wrong and then I asked, world actually doesn’t really understand youth?

I am sharing few points and would love to hear more from you. This is not story of all but you will definitely find yourself somewhere.

Here we go,

1) Youth between age from 20–30: before 20 -absolute kid; after 30 -out of the category of youth. In between when required as kid, considered as mature so no scope and when required as mature, considered as kid so again no scope. That is the reason why lot many volunteers, grass root level heroes, change makers, initiators, leaders going to disappear after they student life ends and initial days of professional life.

2) We are living in the world of leg pullers. Those who are famous globally, ignored locally + those who are famous locally, ignored globally.

3) volunteering = people who are doing it, always face real CHALLENGEs once they are out of their student life and enter into next phase of life. It’s like person who represent their nation 5 times before the age of 23, lost somewhere in practical life and volunteerism within 2-3 years.

4) When youth are students, world will not treat them as professionals. When youth step into professional life, world treat them as new born baby student

5) Everyone knows that what we study is not real world. We are hardly using 0.0001% of what we study in our entire life. Then why nothing is changing, why the word common sense is missing in every aspect of it.

6) Today, getting Job itself is an achievement. Because of that most of the people ended up doing a job they don't like with low salary.

7) People give big lectures on entrepreneurship and share their experience but youth needs to know how to start, how to implement, whether to register or not, whether to get office or not, how to sustain, who can take care of my initial 6 months etc.

8) World mostly judge & undervalue youth on the basis of their age.

9) When youth is invited to represent their country and out of “lot many queries” they ask 1 question to so call expert. Experts instantly reply to that then they forgot about it. While replying sometime they don't even understand the depth and value of the question.

My list is too long, but this is your show and I would love to hear from you, your observation/experiences

o Where world fail to understand youth?

o What problem that youth are actual facing?

“Share what you feel in real” – don’t think much before you comment here; just write what your heart says. Okay buddies it’s enough for today, it’s time to go now. Bye bye, sayonara, good day, Namaskar & have wonderful life!

RJ Jats is signing off from my own last 2 quote:

1) Tough time is when people judge you, undervalue you or use you but Toughest time is when you judge yourself, you undervalue yourself and you allow people to use you

2) There is no relation between “age” & “experience”

    Jatin, excellent observation!

To add up, I cannot stay indifferent when I meet on places on the internet tags for youth like, "new lost generation", "generation sacrificed" etc... I don't think that such branding quite communicates to youth. And anyway I refuse to take such 'tag word' for our generations.

Another thing I have concluded after my observations is that many people (older generations - the world if we want to put it that way) are not aware that they are practically the role models for the youth. 'The world' needs to understand first itself and then try to understand its youth. It's causal relation - the youngsters being consequence of the older ones...

    * to clarify - I am not generalizing, just pointing out a fragment.

    Cheers,
    Stefan

Its like a hurricane of thoughts in my mind after reading your deep and provoking article... !!!

Your questions apart, What comes in my mind after reading your last 2 beautiful quotes, is the one more quote of Ullman Samuel..

Youth is not a time of life - it is a state of mind, it is a temper of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over love of ease... :))

Great work dude !! Thumbs up

its sounds funny and painful when we hear this terminology like "new lost generation" and "generaiton sacrificed" etc. You are right, we dont to take approval from world on who we actually are.. :) :)

nice point about the consequences dear. We always have deep thought inside when it comes to our age. :)

Nice to see that u find everyone somewhere inside the article.. and you are right, unknowingly youth just take away their life with circumstances on which they might regret after few years and

I totally agree with you on "preventing uniqueness and maintain it through out"..

In fact we dont need to approval from system for who we are and what we can do... Only worry is survival of individuals in this world of rejection and judgmental social environment.!!

as i am also a new born baby student i am agree with your all areas ... feeling same ... as you right .....getting Job itself is an achievement. Because of that most of the people ended up doing a job they don't like with low salary.

and the most most important point you mentioned over here ...............People give big lectures on entrepreneurship and share their experience but youth needs to know how to start, how to implement, whether to register or not, whether to get office or not, how to sustain, who can take care of my initial 6 months etc.

i wanna repeat again who can take care of my initial 6 months.
world can understand youth but they are not tring to do so ....

    ha ha ha

who can understand this thing better than me :)

due to some reason i was detached to the oppurtunity world for years n when i jumped into the world i was 28 ...i was learning things , making contacts , building up my confidence n skills but by the time i turned into 30 ..i got few chance to work n fulfill my dreams but just before few months i turned into 31 :D n now i m nowhere :( :(

i don't have habit to behave over 30 age n whenever i start looking any opportunity , i get excited by reading some superb events n than comes to age criteria upto 30

i m sorry to say this but here in C:F also we are having this age criteria as we are YOUTH TANK n now i have stopped looking at the tab "DIVE IN " i just come here , read n get knowledge n vote :) :)

there is an observation that in any crisis upper class n lower class will always survive easily but problem happen to middle class the same case apply to this age 30s

as when you are in your 20s you are young , student n you will be finding a job n settling down with it , you will volunteer somewhere n ll grow personally , you will find someone n will be busy either in relationships or in marriage or severe breakup trauma , busy with friends ...there are so many reasons that you are ultimately busy in your life one or the other way even if you do mistakes you are saved as world will say its ok you have time

but when u are in your 30s ... you are not student anymore , you are not struggler in terms of job anymore , you are settled down with your relationship , your friends are busy in their own life , you are kind of free n relaxed n now you have chance to grow the way you desire but world say " you are out of date"

at your 40s ...people take you seriously , they respect you so you are saved

so in your 30s when you really need friends , volunteering , skills to sharpen you , chances to apply your experiences , chances to correct your mistakes you don't get anything

people will say " vacant the seat n give chance to next generation" or " either you should do something before 30s now wait till your 40s"

If we strongly believed that "there is no wrong time for doing right thing" than nothing should be mattered , no criteria should be there . If you are capable , if you really willing to do good things , right things than you are welcome :) :)

RJ Jats, I agree with you that “how to start and implement” is important for youth to get a flying start. Youth need mentors and teachers who not only give them reference letters but who could help them set goals, and develop roadmap for goals achievement, while also providing constructive criticism.” People in their twenties need to be taught how to access networks of influencers instead of being offered support to develop networks of peers. I think the most important things for young me as a young professional are – access to networks of influence, mentorship, and opportunities for real world experience. The challenges that we face are in accessing opportunities, building your career and developing yourself.

Relevant industry experience is priceless and our world doesn't offer enough of that, hence, most students and fresh graduates resort to volunteering. However, it takes a big heart to volunteer, and it’s quite hectic nowadays especially for young graduates who are no longer supported by parents and family members. Ideally, a job that enables us to assist other people, meet our needs and live out our big dreams is definitely way to go.

“First of all, forget some of the most basic habits you learned in school. Once you are in the real world -- and it doesn't make any difference if you are 22 or 62…” - an excerpt from an interesting article by Jack and Suzy Welch: http://www.linkedin.com/today/ post/article/20130506104243-86 541065-how-graduates-can-get-a head.

    @Reena:
Ohhh dear.. ur first line itself is solid, who can understand this thing better than me

life is touch when you jump into the list of opportunities and suddenly someone say that you are not in the league of youth...

u r right, suddenly person realize that now there is almost no scope
its happy when we become excited to know about few opportunities and platform and sad when we see age limit

I am sure CF will to think on this criteria... its really a big issue.. You are so much active in doing lot many things in and for CF. . and now this age criteria is holding you back to jump in..
today you gave me different perspective of age between 30s & 40s...

Very strong last paragraph my dear..
"There is no wrong time for doing right thing" than nothing should be mattered,no criteria, should be there.. :) :) :)
(I will take your thought to CF and I am sure they are reading this as well)

    @samuel:
you are right on mentorship for start ups dear... n that is also very difficult task bcaz generallly people doubt capabilities of youth and startups and being mentor give them kind of feeling of superiority and i seen mentor badly judge capacity of doing things..

u r right.. Big heart to volunteer .. i really remember your article of volunteerism.. :)
time itself become their enemy.. :)
Its awesome link you shared of the great Jack but when youth enter in industry they treat exactly opposite the way jack is saying... its doesnt matter how good you are but if you are younng you are just small kid for industry peopel .. typical corporate life sucks everywhere.. no matter if in your student life you are advisor to ministry, when you are in corporate they will ignore u like anything

at the end corporate life leads you to follow "vision of boss" instead of "vision of organization"...

only change require is change of mental models.. :) :)
